Ho’oponopono Clearing

The Burning Bowl Ceremony clears known blocks and known resistance. It’s easy, simple and effective.

Ho’oponopono clears unknown blocks and unknown resistance. It is, also, easy, simple and effective. It’s included here because it deals with the unknown, the hidden, the invisible.

The invisible has to be dealt with; otherwise, the thing desired will not come forth.

History of Ho’oponopono
Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian healing practice. Traditionally, it was done by the healing priests of Hawaii, or the family members of the person needing help, usually someone who was physically ill.

Today, this ritual is done by anyone who wants to use it. It can be done silently, out loud, by yourself, or with others.

It is believed that Ho’oponopono corrects, restores and maintains good relationships among the elements of the problem.

For example, if the problem is unemployment, one would do Ho’oponopono to correct, restore and maintain good relationships with all the pieces of unemployment such as the ex-job, ex-boss, ex-colleagues, etc.

Ho’oponopono is based on the belief that you are responsible for everything you think as well as everything that comes to your attention; therefore, you can heal it.

The main parts of Ho’oponopono are love, repentance, forgiveness and gratitude. Print the worksheet at the end of this explanation. The information in this section explains the worksheet.

My explanation is very short. A better explanation is given by Dr. Joe Vitalie. Click his name to link to his essay.

Please know that love, repentance, forgiveness and gratitude are some of the most powerful forces in the Universe. They are forces for good. They are given to us to freely use to bring forth good.

Step 1
Select the situation or circumstance to be changed. On the worksheet, write that expected change on the blank line and the line that says (write the problem here).

Step 2
Repeat the chant for 15 minutes.

When you say “Clean, clean, clean” imagine your spine is in front of you; place your hands on either side of your pretend spine and move them to the left and to the right of your spine.

When you say “Erase, erase, erase” imagine your rib cage and scapula; make erase type movements as if you were erasing writing that’s on your back.

Say the “I love you” part to the problem and the parts of the problem. For example, using the unemployment situation, you’ll be saying “I love you” to the ex-job, ex-boss, ex-other parts of the past.

If you don’t know anything about the problem, then simply say “I love you” and know that God knows what you mean and will direct your love to where ever it’s needed.

“I’m sorry” means that you realize that you are responsible for the problem that has shown up in your life, and you are sorry for your part in its causation.

For example, you might have chosen the problem of over-weight, or an addiction of some type, or an anger issue, or a health problem, or a financial problem, or a relationship problem, or etc.

When you say “I’m sorry” and repeat “For whatever’s going on in me that manifests as the problem, I willingly let whatever it is go”, you are acknowledging that something within you or your past brought forth the problem.

When you do the forgiveness part, don’t worry about who you’re asking for forgiveness. Just ask.

The same for the gratitude part, it doesn’t matter who or what you’re thanking.

Ho’oponopono or Hawaiian Clearing or Mental Clearing Work Sheet

Repeat: The presence of God is here. I sense this presence now. This knowing allows me to relax and to speak to and focus on (the situation or circumstance to be changed) _________________________________________________.

I speak to:

Whatever happened

Whenever it happened

Wherever it happened

Whoever is or was involved with the creation of:

(write the problem here)___________________________________

(and then chant for the next 15 minutes while focusing on the problem area)

I love you

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

For whatever’s going on in me

That manifests as the problem

I willingly let whatever it is go

I thank you.

Clean, clean, clean. Erase, erase, erase.

Clean, clean, clean. Erase, erase, erase.

(After 15 minutes of chanting the above out loud, repeat the following for five minutes.)

Into this cleansed space, I now place: peace, ease, love, joy and solutions.

At the end of 5 minutes, say,”And so it is.”
