When Prayer Doesn’t Work part 3 intention

June 27, 2016

Hi Everyone,

What is the Law of Intention? How do we use it to make prayer effective?

Intention is you saying out loud what you prefer, desire, or want. Intention is you making known your decision about something. The Law of Intention states that whatever we intend the Universe will provide or bring forth.

Clear, firmly stated intentions are the key to getting the Universe to work for us.

The Universe Is
Think of the Universe as being this gigantic pile of energy. Imagine that this energy is moving at a very slow pace as it waits for us to tell it what to do. As soon as it receives our orders via our intention statements, this slow moving energy springs into action and creates what we said.

Prayer is one of the methods we use to communicate to this pile of energy we call the Universe.

If prayer isn’t working, perhaps our intentions haven’t been stated, or, if stated, not stated clearly.

Intention Statements
For example, I could say:

  • My intention is to create more money coming into my bank accounts than going out of them.
  • I am grateful that 75 people attend my visioning workshop in December.
  • I feel God’s presence more and more.
  • I am asthma free. I breathe easily and freely.
  • I intend for the book I’m now writing to be available in paper back and on Kindle at the end of November 2016.
  • I intend to always have more than enough money to pay for my lifestyle and five hundred dollars or more left over.

If your prayer hasn’t brought desired results, examine your intention. Make certain that your prayer and you are focused on what is wanted and that you are ignoring what isn’t wanted.

Your Angels
It is always wise when working with the Law of Intention to invite your angels to examine your intentions and then alert you of any actions being done or words being used that are negating your prayer.

And so it is.

When Prayer Doesn’t Work part 2

June 13, 2016

Hello Everybody,

What is the Law of Congruence? How does it affect prayer?

Last week, we talked about the first thing to do if prayer isn’t producing its intended result.

The first thing we do is use the Law of Mental Equivalence and both clarify and strengthen the blueprint or mold or description we are bringing forth of the condition that we desire.

We use this law to make certain that the Creative Mind knows exactly what we are seeking, and that it has no doubt about how things are to be.

This week, we are discussing the second thing to do: examine the Law of Congruence and our use of it concerning our prayer.

The Law of Congruence

The Law of Congruence states that two things come together and agree.  When we are using the Creative Process, the conscious and the subconscious mind must agree.

We will get our new job if the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are in agreement about it.

However, if the conscious mind says, “Wow! A new job! Awesome!” but the subconscious mind says, “No. You don’t really want to work. You want some more time off”, you won’t get the job.

The Conscious Mind

The conscious mind is responsible for all actions that are preformed while you are conscious, aware, and awake.

The conscious mind is also known to be the gate keeper for the mind. It acts as a filter.

If someone tried to present you with a belief that doesn’t match your belief system, then your conscious mind will filter that belief and not let it in.

In other words, the belief isn’t congruent or in agreement with already held beliefs.

If for example, someone told you that you are “dumb”, your conscious mind will filter this statement and let you realize that you are not really dumb.

The Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind obeys the commands it receives from the conscious mind—up to a point.

It stores all of your previous life experiences, your beliefs, your memories, your skills, all the situations you’ve been through and all the images you’ve ever seen.

The subconscious mind is the storage place for habitual thinking, believing and feeling. When you face a new situation, it automatically sends these habitual patterns to you.

So. If you have the habit of being unemployed and you consciously, with awareness, decide to get a job and you are offered employment, your subconscious mind will find a way to block this change. It will automatically remind you, in many ways, that your habit is to be unemployed.

In this situation, the subconscious will not obey the conscious.

Getting Into Congruence

There are four ways to bring the conscious and subconscious mind into agreement.

We use:

  • Words—both written and spoken
  • Images—both drawn or collaged (vision boards) or the images we speak
  • Pretend
  • And, Ask the Angels

Write and speak out-loud your prayer or the change you want to experience. Use ten-cent, every day, ordinary words. Define what you mean by words like health, wealth, prosperity, success and any others that you think everyone understands, but, when you talk to others, you find that others define the word differently.

Image the change you are praying for. Use the images you made for use with the Law of Mental Equivalence discussed last week, but this time show them to your subconscious mind and say, “See. This is what I mean. See how nicely this change helps you do your job of keeping me alive.”

Also, form this image in your mind. As you do this, point out details like:

“Look how friendly and helpful everyone at my new place of work is. Wow. Everything is so neat, orderly and clean.”

Pretend that your prayer has been answered just the way you want it to. Pretend you have the new job. Pretend your energy level has been restored. Pretend your business is experiencing the growth you desire. Pretend your children are healthy, happy and safe.

By pretend I mean to act out the desired change. If you don’t know how to do this, ask young children to teach you how. They are experts at this kind of play-acting.

And, of course. We always, no matter what, ask the angels for help.

When you speak to them say something like:

“Angels,

I know my conscious and subconscious minds are at odds. I want a change, and the change isn’t coming.

I know I have habits and past experiences that are probably blocking this change, this thing I’ve affirmed in prayer.

Would you please bring these two minds together as one about this change? Would you please help me understand how to communicate with my subconscious mind so that it willingly and easily partners with my conscious mind?

Thank you angels. I am so very grateful for the work you do for me.”

And so it is.

When Prayer Doesn’t Work part 1

June 6, 2016

Hi Everyone,

Prayer works except when it doesn’t. How can this be? Once we realize that our prayer isn’t being answered, what can we do to remedy the situation?

Spiritual leaders are constantly telling us that prayers are always answered and the answer is always “Yes”.

Personal Experience

Our personal experience tells us otherwise. Even if we take into account that the Universe does things on UT time (Universe Time), not all prayers are answered.

If this is happening to you—the job, the money, the relationship, the health you’ve prayed about isn’t appearing, the first thing you need to do is check your use of the Law of Mental Equivalence.

Law of Mental Equivalence

The Law of Mental Equivalence is the providing of an image of what is sought to the mind so that this image exists within us, not just words, but a clear, detailed, precise picture of what is desired and its accompanying feelings.

This is what vision boards help us do.

What we want to bring forth starts within, with a picture; the more detailed the image, the more specific the image, the better; the more precise the feelings associated with the bringing forth of this image, the better.

If you are praying about finding a job, describe that job in great detail. Include its location, bosses, workers, the work atmosphere and environment, the parking or transportation methods, the hours you want to work, the salary, the benefits like paid health, life and dental insurance.

Talk about what you want to gain from this job. Consider such things as skills, contacts and experience.

List what you want to give to this job and that you want to be appreciated and valued for the gift of your talent, skill, time and energy.

Give the same detailed description of the result you are praying for on each topic: relationships, health, wealth or career.

This description must include textures, colors, shapes, smells, and:

  • your definitions of words like success, health, prosperity. The Universe wants to know what success—getting what you’re praying about—looks like, feels like and acts like to you. It wants to know exactly what you mean by health. When prosperity shows up in your life, how will your life be? The same with relationships or other topics.

You will be more successful when you give the Universe a blueprint to follow and a mold to fill.

  • listing the amounts of what is desired: how much money, how many pounds, how large the home, how much the salary increase or offer. This is being specific.

The Universe wants to know the amount you think represents prosperity or wealth or more than enough or the overflow of all good. Remember to include the amount of savings when praying for prosperity or abundance.

  • naming the feelings which will come when your prayer is answered. Include feelings like safety, certainty, personal peace and satisfaction.

Take time to do this because it does take time. As you become more aware of what you want, add to your description or subtract from it.

And, as always, ask the Angels of all of Us for help.

Angels of all of Us

Angels of all of Us,

You know the desire we are seeking. Please help us describe it in great detail. Help us identify and name the feelings this desire generates. Please make us aware of everything we haven’t considered about this desire.

We thank you.

And so it is.

Accepting the possible

Feb. 28, 2014

Hi,

Early in 2013, I wrote about the importance of having one idea.

The truth is all of us have many ideas.  We come up with possible solutions to problems and concerns all the time.

Problem
The problem is that most of us have been put-down so often for opening our mouths and allowing our thoughts to come-forth that we have become quiet.

This is very dangerous.  We are the answer to someone’s prayer.  We are the energy that unites with other energies to lift our world out of darkness into the Light.

We cannot afford to be silent even when we, our Selves, think our idea isn’t worthy.

Solution
The solution has two parts, perhaps more:

  • know that we are loved by God and therefore, have been gifted with many talents and skills including the skill of problem-solving
  • clear our space, including our inner-space, of negative energies.

Accept Who You Are Really
I know I keep harping on this, but this knowing will give you strength and courage.  Do the work in my book, Who Are You Really, or the work that has similar focus by other authors and persons of good will.

Clearing Space
Quietly keep your distance from critical, defeatists persons.  Keep your physical space including your car, clean and well maintained.  Follow the Twelve Step Programs mandate to change your playmates and playgrounds.

If you find that much about your life is toxic, like your job, your family, your church, your friends, then its time to quietly make some moves.

Let’s ask the angels for help with both of these ideas.

Angel Help

Angels of all of us,

Accepting that God loves us is difficult.  Make us know that this is so.  Let us know that because this is so we are powerful, creative, talented, skilled individuals.

Accepting that we are needed because we are the answer to someone’s prayer is, also, difficult.  Help us recognize and accept our personal value and worthiness.  Never let us forget that this is so: we are the answer to someone’s prayer; we are worthy and valuable.

We recognize that we must use our skill of empathy.  We must recognize and accept that there are toxic persons and situations in our life and world.  We accept the wisdom of acceptance instead of denial.  Help us to know when toxicity is present and give us the knowledge to deal with it.

Surround us with the protection of the Light.  Help us to accept the information that flows to us constantly and consistently.  Let us recognize truth.

I speak this word for all who are open and receptive to it.  I speak this word for all who desire to recognize and accept Truth, for it is from the Truth that all good flows including health, prosperity, empowering relationships and worthy contributions.

With great gratitude and thanksgiving, we accept Truth.  And so it is.

Blessed be,

Barbara

A Dose of Work

August 18, 2013

Hello,

I saw the doctor Friday.  When I said I wanted something other than drugs to solve my problem, she nodded and said, “Drugs are for people who won’t do the work of getting and staying healthy, and sometimes, drugs are the only answer for regaining health and surviving.”

I was struck by “won’t do the work”.

Most of us know the work that has to be done for health—physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual; most of us know there is no drug or substitute for this work; and, most of us do our best to do all of this work.

And, sometimes, we don’t get the results we’re working for, or we get overwhelmed with work, or, we simply are unable to keep the faith that work produces the results we desire; it’s then that we go to the angels and God for help.

Prayer and conversations with the angels can bring miracles as well as the results work is supposed to bring.

By the way, the doctor recommended massage as the way to solve my problem.  I’m, also, adding a nice dose of angel and God work.

Love,

Barbara
